Scene: Me and Leah with a cart of books in the basement of the library at work.
Me: You want help with that?
Leah: Nah, I've got it now.
Me: Gaining momentum.
Leah: Yup. And now this downramp. See, gravity makes pushing this even easier.
Me: Yay gravity.
Leah: I love gravity.
Me: Wait a few years.
So just to give you an idea as to what kind of people are running in marathons these days...
Robert Cheruiyot won the Boston Marathon on Monday, and I can live with the fact that he's from Kenya...what I find troubling is the other winners in the race. In fifth place was a blind woman, who had the best time of any American since 1993, and in 10th place was the second American finisher who is 42 years old. I can only assume that 6th and 7th place were won by common sense and a guy in a wheel chair.
Startling proof that Startbucks can't be everywhere...yesterday "Starbucks closed all six of it's shops in Israel, blaming "operational challenges" and not the turmoil in the Middle East." Basically they're saying that 4 different Starbucks are in a 5 block radius of my apartment and they're all thriving, but 6 Starbucks can't survive in all of Israel because of "operational challenges"? It's the war there! Admit it! ...and because the ice cold Israelatte and the Palistazoberry Tea never really caught on. Shame.
