04.30.08 Addicted to Something

For certain people getting drunk means calling an ex and making a fool of themselves. For others it means eating an extra large pizza alone. For me getting drunk means remaking a Robert Palmer music video.

I'm posting this at 2am, so you can probably draw your own conclusions.

(in case you lived under a rock in the 80's, here is the original video)

Whenever my dad gets drunk he calls me up and badgers me for the name of that Robert Palmer song...that Robert Palmer song. When I tell him the name of the song (either this one or the other one) he starts singing it into the phone in that old guy who smoked for fifty years growly voice.

Every time.

This is why I adore you.

Karaoke inverted?

OK,I have to go reapply my eye makeup from laughing (with you). First of all, who puts up a sheet at 2 a.m.? And the tie is all nice and straight? You kill me. You couldn't have been drinking red wine that night!

+Librarian Girl says...

There was an episode of Northern Exposure where Joel hallucinates himself into the Addicted to Love video and your version is very reminiscent of that. (BTW, the reason for Joel's hallucination? Sexual deprivation).

I'm not saying that has anything to do with you. I'm just saying.
