Today I start a new segment in UR Book Smarts: Other People's Bookshelves.

Yes, it's exactly what it sounds like.

+The Maiden Metallurgist says...

I like the Catcher in the Rye test. Cuts right to the chase.

+Serenamina says...

I like the new segment!

That copy of In The Garden of Good and Evil is, like, double the size of mine......

And I've never read Catcher in the Rye.... what is it about? (*cringes cuz she knows its probably one of those things EVERYONE should know*)

+Byron says...

Thank you! I hate Catcher... and gave away my copy when I was done reading it.
Come to my house next. I will blow your mind.

+WDL says...

omg. this is great Josh! You're totally invited to air my bookcase to the world!

If you don't mind British Who-done-its, Books about Judaism & the Holocaust, Beverley Nichols (but who DOESN't own all his titles?),and lots and lots of art history.

xo,
WDL

I feel lukewarm about Holden Caulfield. What does that say about me?

I am so jealous that you can't talk about my bookshelves. If you ever do segments where people can email you photos of their shelves and you talk about them, I am so doing that.

+Lisa K says...

Some books are like bouillon: I don't remember buying them, or using them, but I feel like I should leave them in the back of the pantry (not throw them out).

I had a dream about that rotary phone the other night. You know, not really a dream but more of a nightmare! Where I kept dialling and dialling and the thing wouldn't go all the way around, and I couldn't get thru. I'm sure I was trying to dial 911 or something. Like they had 911 when rotary phones were around.
LOVE the new book segment. You crack me up! It's always fun to go thru other people's stuff!

< Go back and read It's True. We Don't.
Go forward and read Thrill Seeker >
